DIFD TO HELP THREE FAMILIES FROM DALLAS SHOOTING

ARLINGTON – The Do It For Durrett Foundation, a non-pro t dedicated to helping families impacted by sudden loss, is contributing $20,000 to the families of three DART of officers who were injured in the Dallas shootings in July.

“Our focus is helping as many people as we can,” said Do It For Durrett president Emily Jones. “We’re happy to play any role in helping these three return to their normal lives as soon as possible. While we know money won’t be able to change what happened on that night, it’s always our goal to try and ease any nancial burden and we hope this helps.”

Part of the money that is being directed to the three was raised through the Do It For Durrett United t-shirt sales. More than $5,000 was raised during a tailgating event in one night.

The foundation has now helped 23 families since it was formed two years ago after the sudden death of beloved Metroplex sports gure Richard Durrett. It has raised more than $400,000 since it started.
